Construction update

Work continues on the construction of the Raigmore Active Travel Link, as the Pat Munro team works towards a completion date of late November.

What’s been happening?

Last week, the team erected edge rail fencing, laid soil, continued work on the remaining two sets of steps and installed street lighting columns. The team has also fitted as much wood cladding to the sheet piles as is possible until the remaining materials are delivered.

What’s happening next?

This week, handrails are being installed and lighting columns are being erected. All soil work, kerbing and the final sets of steps should be completed. Surfacing works are now expected to start from 19th October.

The felling of dead and diseased trees surrounding the site is due to begin on 13th October. This could take up to a week to complete and there will be a member of the team present while this is happening to ensure the footpath is safe for use.

The projected completion date for the Raigmore Active Travel Link is now 24th November 2021.
