Construction update

Work has continued on the Raigmore Active Travel Link this week as the team awaits confirmation of delivery of the street furniture and wood cladding to finish the project.

What’s been happening?

Preparation of the ground for the footpath has continued over the past week, as well as the installation of kerbs. The team has also continued work on steps which will provide a shorter route for walkers.

Foundations for handrails have also been completed.

What’s happening next?

A base course will be put down to ready the path for surfacing. The final surfacing will be completed once street furniture has been installed.

The team is awaiting final confirmation of a bat survey before the dead and diseased trees surrounding the site can be removed. Dates for the felling of these trees will be confirmed as soon as possible.

An update will also be given on the revised completion date of the Raigmore Active Travel Link once delivery dates for street furniture and the Ekki hardwood cladding has been confirmed by the suppliers.
