Construction update

Following last week’s update that the Raigmore Active Travel Link will face delays caused by supply issues, the team has continued working on site.

What’s been happening?

Work has been continuing to prepare the ground for the footpath. This is being graded, ready for the top layer of tarmac later in construction. The installation of kerbs for the footpaths has also been continuing.

Work has also started to instal steps to provide an alternative, shorter route for those who do not wish to follow the entire route of the new footpath.

What’s happening next?

Final preparations for the surfacing of the footpath will continue before surfacing work commences next week. Work will also continue to finish the steps, as well as the foundations for handrails.

The team is also waiting for the results of a bat survey before the dead and diseased trees surrounding the site can be removed. Dates for the felling of these trees will be confirmed as soon as possible.

An update will be given on the revised completion date of the Raigmore Active Travel Link once delivery dates for street furniture and the Ekki hardwood cladding has been confirmed by the suppliers.
